Custom Bike Culture at Metro Manila Film Festival Movies

Christmas in the Philippines is not complete without the Metro Manila Film Festival. The MMFF is a yearly film festival that caters to locally produced film which are themed with family oriented movies, fantasy stories, comedies as well as love stories. We’re happy that two of the most sought after films for this year’s MMFF are loaded with well crafted custom bikes from two prominent bike builders in the Philippines, Tokwa Party Garage and 3B Customs.

Ang Panday

Tokwa Party Garage was asked by Mr. Coco Martin to build a bike for his movie. “Nagulat na lang ako nang makita ko yun message ni Mr. Coco Martin sa Instagram and nag ask siya if we can make a bike for him,” said, Jerish Yu, founder of Tokwa Party Garage. “Ang Panday” (The Blacksmith) is a 2017 Philippine epic, fantasy action film based on the eponymous comic book character created by Carlo J. Caparas along with his subordinate Steve Gan. Serving as the seventh installment of the Panday series, the film is directed, produced and starred by Coco Martin in the title role.

We actually featured the bike couple of months ago. The bike was also gone viral when some netizen actually made an issue about Mr. Martin not wearing a helmet while riding.

The movie revolves around the character of the 32-year old high-profile musician DIEGO PUNZALAN (Jericho Rosales) who is on the verge of quitting his band and took a trip back to his province Siargao to take a break from Manila’s public eye and rethink his place in his band. It’s sort of a love story chick flick film with a touch of well crafted surf cinematography as well as the beautiful landscape of Siargao Island.

Mr. Benjo Sun, the brainchild behind 3B Customs was so stoked when he realized that his build was the main character’s ride (Jericho Rosales) in the film. Mr. Rosales is a certified motorcycle addict. He has a motorcycle collection in his garage from Scrambler Ducati (a Classic and the Desert Sled), a Triumph Scrambler as well as a Moto Guzzi, a Yamaha Serrow for his dirt escapades and a Vespa PX 150.

“From the start, I never expected that my builds will end up in a film, plus it’s Jericho Rosales pa,” said Benjo.
