Sneak Peek to the Land of Joy: Scrambler Ducati in Manila

In the advent of classic motorcycle model and design, Ducati just recently unveiled their ultimate bike model, the Scrambler Ducati. Set to cruise around the busy streets of Manila by April 2015, Scrambler Ducati is one badass bike and  yes we were there to witness its maiden display at Ducati Manila Flagship Store in Katipunan.

The Ducati Scrambler is the contemporary interpretation of the iconic Ducati model, as if it had never been out of production. The style is “post-heritage”: to take the best of the past and create something unique and absolutely contemporary.

Anti-conformist, accessible and essential, the Ducati Scrambler is the perfect blend of tradition and modernity and marks a return to the pure essence of motorcycling: two wheels, a wide handlebar, a simple engine and a huge amount of fun.

Inventive, youthful and free-spirit, the new Ducati Scrambler is a Land of joy, dreams and self-expression.

Bike Feature: The Bajaj Boxer 150 Street Tracker by Zach Lucero

Who would have known that a simple Boxer 150 by Kawasaki Bajaj can be transformed in to something amazing like this. Passion, imagination and fuel efficiency, that’s what pushed Zach Lucero, one of Radio Republic’s main man and Imago’s band guitarist to build this project.

“The challenge I placed for myself with this one was to have a build done at the most cost efficient way possible. Its my first so I’m dipping my toes in this so to speak. Also I wanted to use exsistng Bajaj/Kawasaki parts as much as possible and na achieve.” Says Zach. He said he will use his bike for daily commute that’s why he installed a box/carrier to carry his laptop, camera etc.

Zach also proved that in just one day, if all the need parts are available, you can easily convert an all stock bike in to a masterpiece.

” So without any trial and error, all the parts available, and about three people doing it simulatneously this can be done in a day.” Says Zach.

The Philippine Custom Build Bike Culture: It’s about Time

Admit it, custom build bikes wether its a cafe racer, street tracker, bobber or brat are more cooler than other bikes (Ehem!) Yes, literally, you give more soul to that two- wheeled beast when you devote your time, knowledge, some nitty gritty with your wife about additional expense or budget that you need to finish your project and yes, passion.

The culture of custom bike builds in the Philippines is gaining more popularity with the help of social media and the classic cafe racer websites that pops up in the web every single day which inspires a lot of motorcycle enthusiast to build their own bike on their backyard or garage.

Alamat Crewser’s Mick Ison. CPI for the win!

For me, personally I prefer low displacement bikes which we have abundantly in our country. We find gold in some old 155 Honda TMX or Yamaha RS. It’s not about the displacement, it’s about your passion to make an ordinary extraordinary, it’s about your love and commitment to show everyone that anything is possible.

We tend to deviate from the norms that the society has established. We want to be different, we want to put soul in our two-wheeled day to day companion. Philippines, considered to be one of Asia’s motorcycle mecca, is now ready for the custom bike revolution.

It’s about time.
