Identity Crisis

1974. During the release and first sighting on a Cologne Motor Show, the flat-four cylinder, 999cc monster was having a hard time fitting into what motorcycle class would it belong. Marked as a tourer, but too heavy for a sports bike, and too upright sitting position to be tagged into sporting class.

 

Indispensable Assets

Well despite the class confusion, it gives total reliability on taking the extra mile. Very much capable of going the distance. Can’t just throw out the potential power within. Here is where creative custom builders begin to take the challenge.

French Builders had their hands on a Honda GL1000 “Gold Wing” and gave it a totally different flair. Tagged as their first Bobber, it is really hard to imagine that the aforementioned is the base bike.

Replaced with a BMW tank, a pair of 16 inch wheels with revised top and back framework.

It looks good, but of course it also has to sound good. They were able to make a stainless conducted exhaust system.

The tank flair is something that you have consider here, something classic and tragic into something creative. Different and can’t easily be recognized. That’s just the beauty of custom building.
